Mergers & acquisitions

  • SecureAppbox (Stockholm, secure communication platform for businesses and organizations) is being acquired by publicly traded Luleå-based sector peer Compodium, for SEK27.5M in newly issued Compodium shares. SecureAppbox is cited to have an ARR of SEK14.2M across "more than 150 customers" (Swedish, machine translation). SecureAppbox was founded in 2011 by Anders Jonson and has registered a bit more than SEK50M in total equity funding with Bolagsverket (sourced via Eivora), raised from angel and private investors. 📊 For 2022, reported net revenue was SEK12.9M, up 15.2% YoY, and loss was -SEK4.1M.

  • Moon Rover Games (Stockholm; game studio dedicated to the creation of cooperative titles set in systemic, emergent worlds, founded 2023): $3.5M in a seed funding round from Korean game developer NCSOFT (English).
  • Update on the EIC Accelerator funding secured by Melt&Marble, which I covered in week 29: The grant portion amounts to €2.5M. The startup also was awarded a €260K grant from the Horizon Europe Framework Programme (English).
  • Creandum led a $13.5M funding round raised by US-based startup Rillet, which is building a modern accounting platform "that makes zero day close a reality" (English).
