Stockholm-based startup Opper raises €1.6M in pre-seed funding to build "a better API for Generative AI"

The company and the pre-seed funding was first covered on January 18, 2024, in the Swedish Tech News PRO newsletter.

Opper, a Stockholm-based development platform for the integration and advancement of generative AI, just emerged from stealth mode, and announced a €1.6M pre-seed funding round from Emblem, Luminar Ventures, and angel investors.

Opper was founded in 2023 by Göran Sandahl and Johan Gustafsson. The duo and team members previously spent ten years founding and building Unomaly, a solution for monitoring complex applications using machine learning and anomaly detection.

Now with Opper, the team's expressed mission is to accelerate the adoption of generative AI "by making it simpler to build production grade reasoning applications, agents and features".

In a blog post introducing the company, co-founder and CEO Sandahl outlines Opper's goal "to create a simple, modern API platform and associated tools that empower developers to easily turn ideas into reality – from experiments to polished, safe, and powerful AI-driven features in production".

Opper's platform is currently available to selected developers and teams with clear use cases and the goal to optimize, or take their AI projects to production.
